Training sessions are currently 3 times a week on a  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.


Further details of these sessions are posted to our Facebook and Instagram accounts the Sunday before the training week begins.


The Tuesday and Thursday training evenings will generally start and finish at Frank Myler Pavillion (FMP). The address of FMP is Liverpool Road, Widnes, WA8 7EY. The map, top right, shows FMP's location. Any changes to the meeting location will be made clear in the weekly post on our social media.


Wednesday night is a session on the track at the back of Wade Deacon High School and St Peters and Paul High School. The address is Highfield Road, Widnes, WA8 7DW. The map, bottom right, shows the track's lcoation.


These sessions vary but there is a general plan which we follow each week. This consists of:

Tuesday
An interval session on the road and consists of running very short distances (100 - 400m) but as quick as possible which aims to increase endurance.

Wednesday
This is like the Tuesday session but the session is taken on the track. Each session varies week on week. The session costs £1.50 for members and £3.50 for non-members.

Thursday 
There are usually four groups differentiating for pace and distance. The general mileage and pace of each group is set out below:


  • ​Group 1 - Mileage = >7 miles at less than 8:00 minute per mile pace
  • Group 2A - Mileage = 6-7 miles at between 8:00 to 9:30 minute per mile pace
  • Group 2B - Mileage = 5.5-6.5 miles at between 9:30 to 10:30 minutes per mile pace
  • Group 3 - Mileage = <5.5 miles at greater than 10:30 minutes per mile pace
